This is the single most common issue we get called about on Lincoln ovens. On electric models it's usually a failed heating element; on gas models, the burner, ignition or gas supply. Either way it's a real part failure, not a setting or a reset, and not a DIY repair.
But there's one real safety check worth doing yourself first: make sure the internal fan is actually blowing air inside the oven. If it's not moving air, turn the oven off immediately. A dead fan lets the electrical components overheat internally — not a fire-out-the-front kind of danger, but real damage to the unit the longer it keeps running.
If the fan is blowing fine and it's still just not heating up, the cause depends on the model: on an electric Impinger it often points to the heating element(s); on a gas Impinger, look at the burner, ignition or gas supply. Call for service and mention it's not heating at all with the fan running fine — that tells our techs what to bring on the truck.
Check the internal fan the same way as above — uneven cooking is the telltale symptom of a fan that's not moving air properly inside the oven. If the fan isn't blowing, turn the oven off immediately and call for service; running it further risks overheating the internal electrical components.
Same as on other conveyor ovens — don't force it, and don't keep restarting the unit hoping it clears itself. Call for service and describe exactly what you're seeing (belt won't move at all vs. moving slow vs. stopping partway) so our techs can narrow it down before arriving.
If you smell gas, leave the area and call 911 or the gas utility from a safe location; shut off the gas only if the valve is safely reachable — don't attempt to fix a gas leak yourself. Beyond the fan check above, heating elements, ignition, and internal electronics are technician territory. A wrong guess usually costs more than the service call would have.
